DESCRIPTION

The pupae of the common house fly is rich in protein and has a high moisture content. Once hatched, flies are a great option for animals needing soft-bodied insects. 

Fly pupae can be stored in a dormant state in the fridge (6°C) for approximately 2 weeks.

To feed as flies, keep fly pupae at room temperature for 3 to 5 days until flies hatch. 

If you prefer to feed your pet the pupae, you can purchase our deactivated fly pupae or freeze the live fly pupae yourself. Although it will keep in the freezer for up to 6 months, once frozen, flies will not hatch from pupae. 

You can feed our insects to your pet:

• frogs
• geckos
• insect-eating birds
• lizards
• predatory fish
• scorpions and spiders
• turtles; and
• wildlife

to provide variety in their diet.

The near constant activity of flies (once hatched) will encourage a positive feed response in animals stimulated to feed by movement.

STORAGE

You can store live fly pupae in the fridge (6°C) for approximately 2 weeks.

If stored at room temperature, flies will begin to hatch within 3 to 5 days.
